A Little Castle Magic: Kristina & Muhammad at Warwick Castle

A registry office wedding, a beautiful blue dress, a fairytale castle and two people who couldn't stop looking at each other. Honestly, what's not to love?

Kristina and Muhammad booked me for two hours of wedding photography after their registry office ceremony, and we met at one of their favourite places: Warwick Castle.

And I think that's what made this session so special. This wasn't just a pretty backdrop they'd picked for their photographs. It was somewhere they already loved visiting, with favourite spots they were excited to show me. So off we went, exploring!

A blue dress & a whole lot of love

First things first: can we take a moment for Kristina's dress? The most beautiful dusky blue, and such a lovely reminder that your wedding outfit doesn't have to be traditional white to look absolutely incredible in your photographs.

Together, Kristina and Muhammad were the sweetest. They were a little unsure of what to do with themselves at first, but once we'd had a chat, a few giggles and settled into things, the affection came out in full force. There were kisses, laughter, hand-holding and those little looks that say absolutely everything without a single word. You know the ones. The you're my favourite person in the entire world looks. Those are always my favourites.

Castle walls, dancing & riverside moments

We explored the castle grounds, wandered along the outside of the castle walls and stopped at some of Kristina and Muhammad's favourite spots. One of my favourite moments was up on a castle wall connecting two of the towers. They held hands, slipped into a little dancing position and started twirling together. It was so sweet watching them have fun and forget about the camera for a moment.

But my absolute favourite photographs came towards the end of our session. We found a quieter spot beneath a tree, beside the river, away from the crowds. With the castle to one side and the water to the other, I asked them to walk hand in hand along the path. We took a few photographs overlooking the river, and everything felt so peaceful and relaxed. After all the exploring, it was the perfect way to finish.

Your wedding photos, your way

Kristina and Muhammad's session is a lovely reminder that your wedding photographs don't have to happen at your ceremony venue, or even on the same day.

You can have a small registry office ceremony, celebrate in your own way, and arrange a separate portrait session somewhere that means something to you both. Perhaps that's a castle you've visited together for years. Maybe it's your favourite park, the place where you first met, or somewhere you've always wanted to explore.

And no, you don't need a traditional white wedding dress, a huge guest list or a grand wedding venue to create photographs you'll treasure. You just need to be yourselves. The rest is my job.
